My name is Mrs Shackleton and I am excited to be working in Reception this year with Mrs Ainsworth alongside our Teaching Assistants Mrs Entwistle and Miss Hadgett.
I am an experienced Early Years Teacher and this will be my fifth year as the Foundation Stage Leader at St. Andrew’s. As part of this role I work closely with the staff in our 2by2 and Preschool provision. I thoroughly enjoy nurturing young children, supporting their early learning and providing opportunities that enable them to explore and develop.
I take a pride in children's achievements and encourage them to flourish and grow. I look forward to creating a fun, challenging and exciting learning environment to ensure the children have a happy and enjoyable first year at school!
I came to St Andrew’s primary school in 2009 working as a HLTA. I have been fortunate enough to work in each year group throughout the school, both supporting as a teaching assistant and teaching. Whilst working at St Andrew’s I studied for my degree in Early Childhood studies and gained Qualified Teacher Status in 2017.
I am thrilled to be joining the reception team and I am really looking forward to working with your child on the start of their school learning journey. In addition to my teaching role, I assist Mrs Wilkinson and Miss Fox with our fantastic school choir.
