The Curriculum

Our broad and balanced curriculum is centered around the needs of our children. We aim to provide them with exciting and memorable learning experiences that will stay with them forever. Our curriculum also incorporates learning about the history and geography of our school and the local area, so that our pupils feel a sense of belonging and respect for the community around them. English and Maths are at the heart of everything we teach so that our pupils leave us with essential life skills and the ability to find out more for themselves.

Our teaching of Christianity gives our children a strong understanding of right and wrong. Staff and governors demonstrate our core values of compassion, trust, friendship and forgiveness. The curriculum promotes the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Each half term every year group produces a Curriculum Map that details what the children will learn. There are some useful web links for children and parents to look at as well as some questions to answer! The Curriculum Maps are designed to give as much information as possible about what the children will be learning at school each half term so parents can support them at home. Each topic works towards an end product and there is a clear purpose for all the learning.
