I joined St Andrew’s in January 2011, I am thoroughly enjoying my time teaching in the Foundation Stage unit. I am entering my tenth year of teaching and most of my teaching career has been in the Foundation Stage. I have taught in Heywood and the Isle of Man prior to taking up my post at St. Andrew’s. I particularly enjoy teaching in the Foundation Stage and believe that children learn best through play. The activities and experiences provided allow the children to explore and experiment in a fun way which enhances their learning.
The children in the foundation stage will engage in many different learning opportunities throughout the year. Some of these include learning about animals, people who help us, mini beasts and if we are lucky we may get the opportunity to see chicks hatching from eggs!
